Former Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva who knows play for Olympique Lyonnais said that he is ready for the new season.
He said that he has enjoyed a good pre-season with the French side and that he is ready to help the team win trophies. Rafael da Silva said that he had started his training earlier as he wants to be fit for the start of the league.
He said that the Ligue 1 is becoming more and more challenging with the arrival of big players and that this is a good thing as it is boosting the attractiveness of the league. He said that he is happy for Neymar to be playing in France as this means that the French League is becoming attractive.
Rafael da Silva said that he is looking forward to the match against Paris Saint Germain as he will want to play against his fellow countryman.
Rafael da Silva said that Olympique Lyonnais has some great players and that they can compete in the league. He admitted that teams such as Paris Saint Germain and Monaco might be ahead of them regarding player quality, but he feels that they are not that far behind.
The former Manchester United player said that football is played 11 against 11 and it does not matter how big your squad is. He said that each player would have to fight on the pitch if they want to challenge in the league and he feels that the players are ready for it.
Rafael da Silva said that he wants to have a good campaign this season as he had some tough moments with injuries last season. He said that there is a good team spirit within the team and that the players are determined to have a go at the different competitions they are in.
