RAFAEL NAMES DREAM SIX-A-SIDE TEAM

Istanbul Basaksehir defender Rafael da Silva has named his dream team. The ex-Manchester United right-back talked about his six-a-side dream team earlier this year while he was a guest on MUTV Group Chat. The Brazilian international also talked about how the Manchester United fans have kept in touch with him despite the fact that he’s no longer with the Red Devils.

Rafael da Silva left Manchester United for French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon some five years ago and he still remains a popular figure amongst the Manchester United faithfuls. The two-cap Brazilian international signed for Lyon in a £2.5m and he was part of the team that defeated city rivals of Manchester United, Manchester City in the group stages of the Champions League in 2018.

Rafael da Silva and Lyon repeated the same thing as they knocked out Manchester City out of the Champions League last season. The former French champions beat the Citizens 3-1 in their quarterfinal clash as they sealed a last four place in the competition.

The right-back moved to Turkey from Lyon this summer and he has been a regular with Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir since then. He was part of the team that beat Manchester United 2-1 at home on matchday 3 in the Champions League and the return leg is in the next few hours at Old Trafford. After the first game in Turkey, Rafael sent a message to Manchester United fans via his official Twitter handle as he said that the Red Devils remain the club that he loves the most.

On his six-a-side team, Rafael da Silva opted for Edwin Van der Sar in goal ahead of David De Gea. He also picked Antonio Valencia and Ryan Giggs. The other players in his team include Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
