Manchester United returnee Paul Pogba has discussed the rationale behind the new hairstyle he is rocking at Old Trafford since rejoining the Premier League giant.
He double sported a Red Devil logo carved into his hair after dying it. He rocked it during his unveiling after the lengthy transfer saga that trailed his world record move ended. He is set to get his first appearance for Man United since leaving four years ago this weekend when they play their second game in the PL against Southampton. He missed the season’s debut against Bournemouth as he had a game suspension record.
“New Hair, new jersey, new season,” the Frenchman wrote on his personal social media handle adding a short video that showed his cropped bleach hair. His hair has a lightning bolt drawn on one side and a red wing on the other.
Pogba left as he couldn’t get enough playtime with Rafeal da Silva – now at Olympique Lyon – preferred ahead of him in the middle. He played the games against Stoke City, West Brom, Wolves and a Europa league feature against Athletic Bilbao. Pogba and his agent pushed for more playing time and more wages but Sir Alex Ferguson –who was manager then – didn’t think in that light. Eventually, he left the club and joined Serie A champions Juventus.
Rafael da Silva started his professional career at Old Trafford after moving with his brother from Brazil. He was the club until his departure in 2015 to France. The 26-year old Right Back has enjoyed a decent time in France and even featured in the first game of the Ligue 1, with his brother – Fabio – returning to play in the Premier League for Middlesbrough. Pogba established himself in four years at Juventus, winning the Serie A title every year.
