Fernando Torres claims that he left Club on his Terms

Spanish international Fernando Torres claims that he was not forced out of Chelsea in the summer and that it was his decision to leave the club.

Torres joined AC Milan in the final few days of the summer transfer window. This was not very surprising since the forward had been linked with a move away from the West London club for a long time. After having come to Chelsea for £ 50 million, Torres was regarded as one of the greatest flops in the history of football. He managed just over 20 league goals in his three years at the club.

Rafael Da Silva will miss another Premier League

Rafael Da Silva will miss yet another Premier League match after being ruled out of the home match against Stoke City.

The Brazilian defender has been unable to feature for United since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea towards the end of October. He has been plagued by injury problems this campaign, like many other United players, and he has featured in only six league matches this campaign. The absence of the Brazilian has forced manager Louis Van Gaal into utilising midfielder Antonio Valencia in a right back position. This has compromised the defensive stability of the team to a certain extent.

Van Gaal forced into da Silva useage

Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal has at his disposal what probably might be the best lineup of attacking players which includes: Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Radame Falcao, Angel Di Maria and Juan Mata but the same cannot be said in the heart of the defence after the departure of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand left vulnerabilities in the defence of Louis van Gaal’s squad.
The Brazilian defender Rafael da Silva has never been a consistent starter at Old Trafford as he has only managed to make 102 league appearances since he made his move to Manchester United on January of 2008.

Reina Puts End To Liverpool Misery

Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina has finally brought an end to his misery at Liverpool to an end after agreeing a permanent move to Bayern Munich. The former number one goalkeeper at Liverpool has struggled for first-team opportunities following the arrival of Simon Mignolet last summer. The Belgian international was brought to Anfield for £ 9 million and Reina immediately found himself on the fringes. After having been a first-team regular for almost a decade, the inability to play every week resulted in him moving to Napoli on a season-long loan deal.

Van Gaal Wants Da Silva Sold

It’s been reported that Louis Van Gaal wants Rafael Da Silva to be sold this summer. It has come as a big surprise for the Manchester United supporters.

The club, already having lost the likes of Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic, was expected to keep somebody as experienced as Silva, but, it seems the new management wants a completely new looking defence for the upcoming season.

Silva was immensely liked by the legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. It was him who had brought the full back at Old Trafford in 2008 saying that there was something special about the Brazilian.

Silva has a big fan following United. His fearlessness on the pitch is something that the club fans appreciate a lot.

da Silver Injury Could Be A Huge Problem

The Brazilian defender of Manchester United Rafael da Silva has not been able to perform in all of the pre-season matches for his club after sustaining a groin injury which will keep him out of the playing ground. With Louis van Gaal in charge of the English club, United has so far been enjoying a positive pre-season campaign with victories against: LA Galaxy, Inter Milan and As.Roma.

But now that Rafael da Silva is suffering from an injury even before the start of the Premier League season this might turn into a huge problem for the Dutch coach if he doesn’t decide to reinforce the defensive department of Manchester United before the summer transfer window reaches its end.

Da Silva Believes Nobody Should Be Blamed For United Performance

Rafael Da Silva has said that the whole Manchester United squad is responsible for how the last season went and nobody, in particular, should be blamed for that.

The Red Devils finished the last season at the 7th position in the league points table. It was their worst performance in the top tier of English football in more than two decades.

The manager of the team, David Moyes, had to pay the price for all that at the end as he was sacked with 4 matches remaining in the season.

Many people were not happy with that decision of the Manchester United board to axe Moyes. They felt that the 50-year old Scot was hard done by. It was always going to be a tall order for him to make the team finish at a higher position in the table in his very first year.
