Da Silva on Alex Ferguson

Former Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has revealed how the former boss Sir Alex Ferguson would often confuse him and his twin brother Fabio da Silva.


Sir Alex Ferguson signed both players from Fluminense in 2008 and would help them get acquainted with European football. Rafael da Silva will make 169 appearances for Manchester United while his twin brother would manage only 56 for the Red Devils.

Rafael da Silva said that he is grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson to have given him a chance for playing in a club such as Manchester United and that he is who he is now because of him.

Da Silva ready for new season

Former Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva who knows play for Olympique Lyonnais said that he is ready for the new season.


He said that he has enjoyed a good pre-season with the French side and that he is ready to help the team win trophies. Rafael da Silva said that he had started his training earlier as he wants to be fit for the start of the league.

Rafael da Silva spent 7 seasons performing with Manchester United where he managed to lift some of the biggest European titles including:


The Premier League, FA Community Shield and the FIFA Club World Cup, just to name a few of them.

The Brazilian defender was an off and on performer in Old Trafford as he enjoyed being a consistent player during a few seasons but others, he had to be dropped to the sidelines either due to injuries or simply because Rafael was not selected and other players took his spot.

FABIO IN REFELCTIVE MOOD AFTER PLANE CRASH

Premier League side Middlesbrough would have one of their players in reflective mood when they play Southampton.


Brazilian Fabio da Silva had friends that suffered the plane crash in Columbia. The plane was carrying the Chapecoense team that was on its way to the Copa Sudameriana final after a fairy tale season.

LYON RIDES DOWN DINAMO ZAGREB

In what was surely a convincing win against Dinamo Zagreb, Lyon ensured that they began their UCL campaign in style.

The Les Gones ensured a comfortable starting point by winning their first UCL game against Modri by 3 goals to 0. With this win, a little pressure has been eased off the backs of the Lyon’s boss, Bruno Genesio.

The goals began coming in during the first half period of the game when Corentin Tolisso’s first goal was later followed by goal strikes from Jordan Ferri and Gnarly Cornet. This win ensured that Les Gones finally ended its two-game losing streak which was fast raising questions about the future of the Lyon’s boss.
